THEODORE 720 PROFISH
21 August 2007 | Red Book
South Australian boatbuilder Theodore Marine has a new edition to its range in the 720 Profish
Based on Theodore's 720 Coastal, the Profish is an outboard version of that model, with extra features including a laid teak deck, custom stainless steel rod holder and a sporty targa arch.
The Profish received a special commendation at this year's Australian Marine Awards in the ‘Fishing Trailerable – Fibreglass Over 6m' category, conducted by the Australian Marine Industries Federation.
Theodore Marine said features that put the 720 Profish in a league of its own are the large shelf draining cockpit with ample storage compartments which can be found throughout the boat in side lockers, underseat lockers and forward in the V-berth cabin. The underfloor fishbox can also convert to a big ice box.
The accommodation has a generous six-foot length with a portable toilet and lockable sliding door, said the company.
Theodore said all its boats are built to 2C survey standard and, by hand laying the hulls, are able to control the thickness and weight of every boat with less than 10kg difference between each vessel.
Under the floor is a fibreglass stringer grid system supporting the moulded fibreglass cockpit and cabin sole, and which acts as an extra safety component in strength, stability and floatation with separate compartments forward and aft acting in sync with bulkhead systems.
The 720 Profish is designed to take outboards of 200 to 300hp and retails between $135,000 and $150,000 depending on configuration.
